The Dress Code

Funky Formal.

Think: black tie meets your favorite vintage shop. Velvet jackets, statement suits, sequins, satin. Lean into jewel tones and fall hues — emerald, sapphire, ruby, rust, mustard, amethyst. Wear something you'd take a picture in. If your outfit makes you feel like the most interesting person at the party, you nailed it.

Bring it on

  • Velvet, satin, sequins, jacquard
  • Bold suits — color, pattern, or texture
  • Statement shoes (yes, even the loud ones)
  • Floor-length gowns, midi dresses, jumpsuits
  • A fun accessory: A great hat, or big jewelry.

Maybe save for another night

  • Jeans, tees, sneakers
  • Cargo shorts (we love you, but no)
  • Costumes — it's not Halloween yet

Not into funky? Classic formal works just as well. Wear what makes you feel like yourself.

Travel & Stay

Three hotels, all walkable to the venue.

All three options are within a short ride of Corrigan Station. Book early — October weekends in KC fill up fast. We don't have formal room blocks, so use whatever booking method works best for you.

KC Local Guide

Make a weekend of it.

Coming in from out of town? Here's where the locals would actually send you. The Crossroads and Power & Light districts are both a short walk from any of the hotels above.

RSVP

Will we see you?

Please let us know by August 1, 2026. Earlier is better — it helps us plan seating, dinner, and the dance floor.

RSVP ON THE KNOT
Registry

Your presence is the gift.

Truly. But if you'd still like to mark the occasion, we'd love your contribution to our honeymoon — adventures, a great dinner, a nightcap on us in your name.

FAQ

Things people actually ask.

Is the ceremony outdoors?
Yes — the whole evening is on the rooftop of Corrigan Station. Mid-October in Kansas City is usually beautiful, but bring a light layer just in case.
Can I bring a plus-one?
Plus-ones are listed by name on your invitation. If your invite is addressed to you only, please RSVP just for yourself. We're at venue capacity.
Are kids welcome?
We love your kids — but this one's adults only. Use it as an excuse for a date night (or a weekend away with the babysitter).
What does "funky formal" actually mean?
Black-tie level of effort, but with personality. Velvet, sequins, bold color, vintage suits, statement accessories — see the attire section above and the Pinterest board for inspiration. Not into funky? Classic formal works just as well — wear what makes you feel like yourself.
Where should I park?
Easy — there's free garage parking in the lot directly across the street from the venue. No meters, no circling the block, no hunting for change. If you'd rather skip the drive entirely, a Lyft or Uber from any of the hotels above is just a few minutes.
Will food and drinks be provided?
Yes — a seated dinner and an open bar. Please flag dietary restrictions on your RSVP.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We're going phone-free for the ceremony itself — please put it away so our photographer can do their thing. After that, snap away and please share!
